Great little store with home made pies and a beer room for bottle purchase. Lovely staff and owners.

Very convenient for my visit to the Black Canyon Gorge. It's close to the Cimarron entrance and the damn so you can cross over to the north side.

Yes, the place is old, and maybe there is water pressure low in one or two cabins. And the internet connection is also limited. You weren't allowed in the bathroom- it's probably because the bathroom is part of the private home of the owner. The internet up there is ONLY available via satellite and is ALWAYS limited to 20 gb a month. Sorry, that sucks, but not pleasant valleys fault. The water pressure is usually not that high up in the mountains - heck, water is so rare, you aren't even legally allowed to water your plants wirh house-water. If you expect the hilton, then pleasant valley isn't for you. If you however expect great pie and and friendly faces, tons of nature and some up the mountain adventure then you should give it a try. Just dont expect new york kind of comfort and youll be fine.

I thought it was fabulous. Quaint cabins, clean and comfortable. Fridge freezer microwave coffee pot and a rockin hot gas heater. There's a store and a cozy restaurant with breakfast lunch and dinner. Elk,venison, buffalo burgers and great pies served by a very personable patron.

Gave it two stars because the shower had less pressure than the two sinks which was basically nothing.. it was overpriced already as it was but the owner didnt offer any refund... they had plenty of supplies to sell... the site probably was in its prime 20 years ago... repairs and updating are needed but overall it was clean and had a well supplied kitchenette... you pay for it being the first available spot after a long drive... overall, i had an experience as was expected upon pulling into the place...

I was on Motorcycle trip from New York this past July. Stopped here for a night tent camping. Set up by the stream. Very nice people running the place. I spoke with them many times. met a few other bikers that night as well on trips. I ate supper in the resturant and it was very good home cooked food. I had a real good nights sleep next to the stream after a long day as well. I would stay here again without any hesitation on my way again. As far as the Campers reviews I cant compare. I also have a Toyhauler as well but this trip was a tent camping 3 week trip from NY and back. I have no complaints and I was treated very well and Beleve me I some campgrounds hate bikers pulling in with tents. My kind of place. If you think internet service was bad here head out to utah where i was nada but thats the way it is out west water and cell service is a rare. just expect it and it all works out fine.
